As CEO of Hi-Rice, Besim Ramadani is responsible for the company’s overall strategic management. With his background in marketing and sales, he combines operational excellence with a clear vision for growth and brand development. Through his energy, team spirit, and sense of market trends, he consistently leads Hi-Rice towards sustainable expansion and strong market positioning.

As founder and owner of Hi-Rice, Michael combines tradition and innovation. From the very beginning, his vision was to view rice not just as a product, but as a culture and promise of quality. He has passionately built and shaped Hi-Rice: From the first fields to international distribution, he accompanies every step with the goal of producing sustainable, high-quality rice.

My motivation

I believe that real change begins when we take responsibility for what we grow and consume. When I founded Hi Rice, I wanted to do more than just produce good rice. I wanted to show that sustainable agriculture is not an ideal, but a real opportunity for our planet. For me, rice is a symbol – of life, of food security, and of connection. But conventional rice cultivation often comes at a high price: wasted water, depleted soils, and social inequality. I wanted to prove that there is another way. With Hi Rice, we rely on innovative methods to grow healthy, high-quality rice with minimal water consumption – in a way that regenerates soil, empowers people, and creates a future. I dream of a world in which everyone has access to healthy food – without nature suffering. This is my motivation, every day.

Sokol Ramadani

Sokol travels extensively, visiting our partners and dealers, presenting new products, and providing on-site support. His goal is to stay close to the market and ensure our customers receive the best possible service.

Simon Zimmermann

Supply Chain & Production Manager

Simon accompanies and supports our farmers during cultivation, coordinates the production processes in Thailand, and ensures compliance with our quality standards. This includes monitoring the processing steps – from harvesting to drying to packaging. My goal is to ensure smooth operations and continuously develop our processes so that we can deliver rice of the highest quality to our customers.

Kung leads the production team in Buriram, coordinating operations from cultivation to processing and overseeing quality control. Together with his team, he ensures that every sack of rice that leaves our factory bears the hallmark of care and precision.

Our colleagues in Buriram are motivated to carry the tradition of rice cultivation into the future with the utmost care and quality. With passion, expertise, and regional ties, they ensure that every grain of rice finds its way from the fields of Thailand to our customers around the world.

My motivation

I'm proud to serve on the board of a company that, with passion and innovation, produces the world's most sustainable organic rice. Our upcoming certification by Eaternity, an ETH spin-off, officially confirms that we produce 100% climate-friendly rice – with 200 times less water consumption, 98.5% fewer CO₂ emissions, and virtually arsenic-free cultivation (< 0.05 g). Our rice represents the best nature currently has to offer—healthy, clean, and forward-looking. We are also particularly proud of our strong social commitment: We pay fair wages, promote education, and create new prospects for farming families. Hi-Rice combines ecological responsibility with genuine humanity—and demonstrates that sustainable agriculture can combine joy, meaning, and impact.

My motivation

Since June 1, 2025, we have only been serving jasmine rice from Primal Rice in our Thai restaurant, and our guests are thrilled. I serve on the Hi-Rice Board of Directors because sustainable quality and customer satisfaction are central to me. My motto "People – Market – Environment" guides my decisions and can be consistently implemented here. With my 40 years of entrepreneurial experience, I contribute values and practical knowledge of sustainable development. I want to actively shape innovative solutions for responsible nutrition and corporate responsibility. In this way, I combine gastronomic excellence with ecological and social added value for Hi-Rice.
